Anne Frank :The Diary of a Young Girl

Summary:
Now that I've finished that book "Anne Frank", I would like to share the part when the families celebrated Hanukkah. Anne and the rest of her family and the Van Daans they did the same tradition but, since they didn't have much they did some things different. For example, they lit a candle for about 10 minutes. When Anne was in the attic she saw terrible things going on around her. For example, at night, she saw Jews been taking away from their houses. I don't want to give away the ending but, Anne Frank and her family have a unexpected ending.

Genre
The Diary of Anne Frank is a auto-biography book. I now what you are think this isn't an auto-biography book because Anne is writing about her self but not about her life story. In my belief I think the genre is Auto biography because she is telling wants happing in life so far.  Anne frank is non-fiction. Every thing she says is true. People might say that the diary of Anne Frank a is a children literature but, it can be.

Anne Frank Diary

Summary
So far in my book "Anne Frank the Diary of a Young Girl", its about a 13 year old Jewish girl Anne Frank and her life in a diary. She is living in a time when hitler took over. When Hitler took over Jews like Anne Frank have to wear a star (representing that they are Jews),  they couldn't ride trains, drive cars, and Jews had a corfu etc. Anne and her family are going to a secret annexe that is a attic that is safe. Anne and her family are having a hard time living there because they can't make nosies, and they have to share the attic with another family. A family that took them in the Koophuis family have been helping them a lot starting with hiding them, they also bring them food.

POV
The point of view my book "Anne Frank the Diary of a young girl", is first person. I think its first person because the author is always starting her sentences with I, me, and mine. You also get to hear her thoughts and see what is happing through her eyes. For example "In 934 I went to a school  the Montessori Kindergarten". I also think it is in first person because its her journal. I know its a journal because the way she writes her paragraphs and how she dates her paragraphs.

Holocaust

This pass month I've been learning about the holocaust and reading about some by-standers and up-standers. By-stander is when a person who is present at an event or incident but does not take part. On the other hand, an up-stander is a person who is present at an event or incident and takes action. So, in class we have been talking about how Hitler slowly brainwashed Germans to go against the Jews and how the actions that he did got worst for the Jews and talking about why people didn't stood up. I think that people became a by-stander because they saw the problem not that bad and they would do something once it got worse. Then when the situation got worse they were to scared to that they would have some consequences their self’s. I read about some up-stander who stood up. For example, Schindler, he uses his money to buy Jews and save them. If I was in this situation I probably be a by-stander because I would be scared if they caught me and possibly kill me and my family.

If I stay

In my book "If I stay", a young girl named Mia, has a car accident that puts her in a coma. During that coma, she watches her life falls apart in a out of-body-experience.  Mia is stuck in between a rock and a hard place. Does she stay or does she go. If she stays she live without parent but, if she leaves she would leave without Adam and the rest of the family. Is it worth living her life with the people missing?

Note&Notice
When I was reading" If I stay".The main character ask herself a difficult questioned. Do I stay? Do I go? It makes me wonder what would happened if she were to stay or leave because it would affect other people and what they would do. I think that she would stay because she still needs to continue her life and her family would of been proud of her.

If I stay

Summary
So far in my book "If I Stay",  it's about how a young girl Mia, a seventeen year old teenager has a perfect life. She has a perfect family, perfect boyfriend, and a perfect best friend. Suddenly,In an instant her life change. Mia had a car accident. Will she live? Would her life change?

Genre/Reflet
I think that the genre of "If I stay"  is drama because  there is a lot of conflicts going on in her life. For example, She doesn't know what to choose if she should stay or leave. What I like about this genre is that you keep wonder what would happen next and can't stop reading. I also like that have a lot of questions about what would happen next.  My favorite part of the book so far is when they have a snowy day even though it isn't a terrible weather.

Worker's Rights Articles

In the article "Bangladesh Factory owner", a fire happened causing 112 people to die. This happened because the workers were working and suddenly a alarm went off but, the managers and security guards wouldn't  let them out because they thought was a drill and  it turns out that it was to late for them to escape, according to the investigation. In my belief, they should of had safety hazards, and fire alarms. I also think that even if it was a drill they should of still let them out. I learned that people need to have more rights and that mangers  have to take a step up and be more responsible.

In the poem I read "Simone Weil: The Year of Factory Work," while reading the poem  I was think what was the argument. Then I kept on reading the poem  and the argument was about how a worker was treated back then and how they never get a rest . I know this because it says " The clock never stops." It is different than the article because this shows a view of how the workers are treated in sweatshops. It affects how  I understand because it shows his feelings.

Finishing Oogy

Summary
My book Oogy is about how a family in 2002, Larry levin the author and his twin sons were going to the animal hospital to put their cat to sleep. The bad day became the best day. A dog that just had one ear caught their attention. The dog has been living in a world of terror.  Oogy lived in a world of dog fighting. He was used to train other dogs but, that didn't let the levin family leave him they adopted them and took car of him. Until this day Oogy still lives with a caring family the levin family. One thing that I really love about this book  is that the dog still like humans some dogs in Oogy's position might believe that all human are the same but, no he let them in his life. I also like how even though he has battle scars the levin family stills loves him.

Conflict
Person Vs. self
Oogy was found when a police found the dog fighting center. He was taken to a animal  hospital. Diane was the director of operations she  ask Dr. Bianco if he could do anything to save the dog, There Dr.Bianco took a look at the dog to see if he could of done something to save him. He told Diane there wasn't a possible way to save him but, that did not stop Diane. She told him he had to save the dog. Dr. Bianco did a surgery that took seven hours. Then another complication happen. Oogy didn't want to eat. Dr. Bianco was worried. Oogy had a jawbone that was lose and was in extreme  pain whenever he took a bite of something. The bone was crushed when Oogy was in the dog fighting.

Call of Duty

When I was reading the scope article of  "Call of duty" in class I  was thinking about the main character Jose. Jose was a solider.  His jobs was to find bomb that were hidden  by Taliban fighters. His partner  Zenit was a german shepherd. Zenit help Jose find bombs that were on the ground. Jose wasn't Zenit's  owner so when he got seriously hurt. He couldn't be able to work and Zenit was assigned to some other solider. I couldn't believe that Jose would go through everything to get Zenit back. Jose was one the those people who wouldn't give up. I think that was the message that he was trying to give. I also believe to not give up to who those who you need  just like Zenit and Jose.

Point of view Oogy

In my book Oogy the point of view is first person I know this because my character narrates the story with I, me, and mine." I put on my tuxedo. How often would I get to be a father and bring two boys home." In this sentence the authors uses the word I and my. It is not written in second person because the author does not use the word you or your. I also think it might be third person because its uses words like her, he, she, and they. "She wanted to make sure that she would give them the best possible start in life."I'm sure that the book is viewed in first person.

Summary Oogy

I am reading the book Oogy and, so far I have learned that  Oogy is a dog who was in a world of dog fighting. When fighting his left side of his face was gone including his ear. He was rescued when he was two months old. He was in the hospital when the levin family saw him. He was adopted to the  levin family Larry, Jennifer, and their adopted twins sons dan and noah. Would Oogy adjust to his new family? Would the levin family love Oogy? Would they accepted his looks? Would Oogy change the hearts of the family?

Treasure of Lemon Brown Summary

On Monday me and my class started to read a short story of the Treasure of Lemon Brown. while we were reading the story I was shocked because lemon brown treasure meant a lot to him even though it wasn't gold or money. Since in class we been talking about homelessness and how people become homeless. I learned another reason how people became homeless. I was surprised to hear about how lemon brown became homeless because it wasn't a reason that we have discussed  about in class. What also surprised me was Greg because how he changed throughout the story . First he was annoyed because his dad would pressure him about getting better grades but when Greg meets Lemon Brown he notices  that his dad cared a lot about him.

Character Analysis (Shooting Kabul)

In the book that I recently finished  reading we meet Fadi, Mariam, Noor, Zafoona, and Habib.  Fadi is the main character in Shooting Kabul. Fadi has a passion of photographing. Throughout the book he losses his sister and believes that it was his fault. Then there's Mariam, Fadi's six year old little sister who is obsess with Gulmina her doll. (Which causes her to get lost.)  Next Noor is Fadi older sister. Noor works at McDonald's. She also thinks it was her responsibility of Mariam lost. However Zafoona Fadi's  mom think its was her responsibility since she is the mother of the child. Throughout the trip she was sick and Zofoona blames it on that of the lost of Mariam. Lastly, we have Fadi's dad Habib. Habib did mostly of carrying their belongings and help his wife. The character that I can relate more to is Fadi because I also like to take photos.
