Summary 

In my last blog I talk about a little bit about the book, "A Memoir Positive", I introduced you to the character, Paige. So far we have met trouble.  Paige becomes best friends with a girl name Yasmine. One day Paige was talking to Yasmine in lunch and told her that she was HIV positive; Yamsime couldn't keep a secret. Everyone in six-grade now knows that Paige has HIV and the bulling starts.  She soon meant Amber and Ethan. Paige has a crush on Ethan and Amber is an eight-grader cheerleader. Soon that week she stops talking to Yasmine and continues to get bullied. Her mother soon finds out and her and Paige filled out a lawsuit in the US Federal District court. Then their law suit in all over the newspaper. Paige was given an interview and she got to tell her story. What will happen to Paige would she become famous? Will the bullying stop?

Conflicts

 In the book I’m currently reading “A Memoir Positive “, has a lot of conflicts, but one conflict that stuck out was external conflict, man vs. society. Paige is a girl who has to live with a disability of HIV. Paige told her best friend of her disability. Soon her secret spread like a wild fire. She notice when a seven grader said “Careful’ don’t drink after her, she has Aids.” Within seconds the bullying began. Paige wasn’t the only one who would be bullied but her friends to.  For example, they would bully her crush Ethan because they kissed. They would say, “you better not kiss Paige, or you’ll get AIDS, too.” In the hallways they would call Paige “PAIDS”. All this bulling caused Paige to cut her self with a blade. The bullying went to far.

Summary
So far in my book that I am currently reading, "A Memoir Positive",we meet some characters. Paige, her mother, her best friend Yasmine, and a little bit about her father. The book cover has a picture of a lady and on her right side she has a writing on it that says ,"Surviving my bullies, finding hope and changing the world", this sentence was the first thing that caught my eye. The few pages are introducing us to the book. To the girl who's story is about. Paige. In the first page it she started talking about her name on the bathroom wall and she made it sound if it was a terrifying thing. She said, " I never in a million years expected to see my name on this wall. I'd always considered myself a good girl-----more Glee than  Kardashians, more Taylor Swift than Miley Cyrus. I was born a joiner, not a fighter." She then talk about how everyday when she was little she had to take medicine and go to the doctor's frequently and she notices something strange. Later on she explains that she has HIV and how she got it. She talk about her young years while she starts middle school. It goes back and fourth repeatedly. Do you think her classmates will treat her differently? Do they find out?

Characters
In the beginning of "A Memoir Positive", we get introduce to Paige. Paige is a energetic and confident girl. I will call Paige as a energetic because she already has everything planed out and what she is going to join for middle school clubs. For example, " I planned to run track this year----its one of the few sports sixth graders could join--- and then next year stand on the track in a cheerleading uniform.", Paige says. I also believe that Paige is confident for many reasons but, I will give you one. When she finds a flyer to attend a pageant she begs and begs her mom to enter. She doesn't stop asking her until she says yes "My words were muffled against her body "I'll win. I swear:they will love me." Paige is a energetic and confident girl.

Schools use technology to keep a very close eye on kids

In the article " Schools use technology to keep a very close eye on kids", that I found in Newsela, I have found the article very interesting. The article is about how schools use a new technology to track students. The technology can be used in the students ID, in fingerprints, or they can scan your eye ball or palm. The schools use the technology for taking attendance, letting know parents when the kids get off school buses and it can even help speed up lunch-lines. On the other hand, some people think its a horrible idea like parents and law makers they believe that the information that they used for this technology isn't safe. What's your opinion?

3rd Quarter Goals

In this quarter I would want to achieve an academic goal for school. A goal I would want to achieve is get on the honor roll. These past quarters I haven't been responsible of my work but this year I  will try harder,turn in my assignments,and study for quizzes.  To achieve this goal I will have to get no C's.  I would also want to add that I will ask more questions,and ask for help.

A personal goal I would want to attain is be more delightful to people. I choose this goal because I wanted to change things a bit this year. To be more generous to people I would have to change some stuff of my personalty. Things I would have to change to achieve this goal is to be more polite, say thank you more often, and help out in the classrooms.I would want to achieve this goal at the end of this quarter.
